A reflector is not only a great promotional gift, but it can also save lives.

There are many gifts that are nice as a gesture, but how many of them are truly life-saving? Not many, but a reflector is something everyone needs, and it contributes to the safety of both yourself and other road users. Choose a suitable reflector here.

Drivers know how difficult it can be to notice a pedestrian dressed in dark clothing on an autumn evening. The purpose of a reflector is to clearly signal from a distance of up to 150 meters that the object ahead is a pedestrian and not, for example, a post. According to traffic regulations, pedestrians must wear a reflective vest or carry a light when walking on the road in the dark.

Reflectors and the requirements that apply to them

To meet the safety standard for reflectors (EN13356:2001), the minimum diameter must be 5 cm, providing a reflective surface of 15 cm² on one side. A reflector is considered personal protective equipment and is subject to fairly strict regulations. Not all “reflective products” are actual reflectors. A compliant reflector must, in addition to the characteristics mentioned above, include instructions for use and information about the manufacturer and importer. Reflectors with logos also carry the CE marking, which is another sign that the product meets certification requirements.

We recommend choosing reflectors with a larger reflective surface, which ensures better visibility and allows space for adding a logo. When placing a logo on a reflector, it is important that it covers as little of the reflector’s surface as possible. It is also recommended to choose reflectors where the logo is printed beneath the protective surface layer.

How to wear a reflector?

A classic reflector with a hanging cord should be attached at the height of car headlights and worn on the side facing the roadway.

Types of reflectors

Slap-wrap type reflective bands meet all requirements and are easy and convenient to attach to clothing or accessories. You can find a selection of reflective bands here.

PVC reflectors are those in which the logo is printed beneath the reflective surface. These reflectors also meet all required standards.

When ordering reflectors from meened.ee, you can be confident that they meet all safety standards and are durable. However, if a reflector becomes damaged, it should be replaced because its reflective properties may no longer be the same.
